  • If you have Type 2 diabetes and are on insulin, you may need to test two or more times per day, depending on amount and type of insulin and your specific circumstances.

  • First is the Manual Method whereby you would have to prick your finger at various prescribed times of day, determine your glucose level and record it in some manageable form for analysis.  
  • Second are Continuous Glucose Monitoring applications that have evolved as technology has improved. Continuous monitoring is generally  non-invasive and continually keeps track of your sugar levels.

Glucose meters involve pricking which is not only painful, but comes with an increased health risk due to their invasive nature.
