The Necessity of Colon Cleansing for Vibrant Health
If it is not treated kindly and kept clean it will create a cesspool of disease. Now is a good time to wake-up to a brief overview of what the colon does, how to clean it and what it needs to stay healthy.
The colon is approximately 6 feet long and is a muscular tube whose job is to reabsorb fluids, sodium and some nutrients, which creates stool (waste) so it can be eliminated from the body.
There are 4 parts to the Colon:
- Ascending colon which travels up the right side of the abdomen
- Transverse colon which runs horizontally across the abdomen
- Descending colon which moves down the left side of the body
- Sigmoid colon is just before the rectum and has a curve to it
The colon is filled with billions of bacteria which ideally keeps the food we ingest from rotting internally while simultaneously, bacteria in the colon eats (breaks down) the food so unnecessary bulk can be eliminated.
Although there is controversy on whether cleansing the colon is necessary or not, in my health practice of over 35 years I have personally found that is has made a significant difference in the lives of many, many people.
The benefits I have seen occur are thing such as:
- Increased Energy
- Increased Mental Clarity
- Relief from Joint Aches and Pains
- Elimination of Rashes
- Elimination of Headaches
- Weight Loss
- Stronger Immune System
- Cancer Prevention
- And much more
Did you know that when our food is not digested properly it can ferment, rot and create a bacterial imbalance which causes inflammation? This imbalance can lead to unhealthy and sometimes painful conditions such as parasites, colitis, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diarrhea, constipation, salmonellosis, polyps, cancer to name just a few.
Cleansing the Colon
The idea here is to keep things ‘moving’ through your body. We must keep the colon continuously emptying and keep the proper balance of “good’ bacteria intact. Food putrefying in the colon causes an imbalance in bacteria and good enzymes, which is what causes problems to occur.
Even if you have one bowel movement a day it does not mean that you do not have a dirty colon. It is important to clean the colon regularly (daily).
There are many, many colon cleanses to choose from out in the marketplace. I suggest you get the support of a practitioner or at least a knowledgeable person at your local health food store.
You can also find many kits online that can be very good. Read the ingredients and make sure they are pure without additives or chemicals.
Most kits will have 2 or 3 parts to them. Herbal pills to detoxify, powders for better elimination and some will have Pro and Prebiotics.
Here are some important thoughts to consider
We all have worms to some degree because of the food we eat, which has thousands of microscopic parasites in it.
To help eliminate an overgrowth of them:
I personally am not an advocate of colonics although I have done them when I was younger. In my experience many people find that they can cause spasms and pain. They can also remove minerals and other important factors in the colon which can be a problem.
Please note that it is NOT normal or healthy to have a bowel movement less than once a day. Ideally you would defecate after each meal. Note what your stool is like and how often you go as you eat different types of meals. The perfect stool floats and is easy to pass without any strain.
After you have done a good colon cleanse (suggested 1-3 times a year) you can now consider a deep parasite cleanse and after that a chemical and heavy metal cleanse. Look for my future articles covering these other types of cleanses. For more information follow me at
Your colon is an integral part of your Vibrant Health. When it is clean you will feel more alive and healthy. Allow yourself to care for your body in a kind and open way and it will repay you with Vibrant Energy and a Joyful outlook on Life!
