Why Colon Hydrotherapy?
If your colon could speak, it would say five words: “I need to be cleaned!” Why is colon hydrotherapy so important? Everything you put in your mouth affects your stomach wall, small intestine, and large intestine (colon). If these substances or their by-products are toxic, they hurt the intestinal wall and cells and inebriate the glands and nerves. They can also be absorbed by the blood and lymph and eventually by the cells and tissue.
As you continue ingesting toxic substances, peristalsis declines. Food is transported slowly and any undigested food is worked on by bacteria and yeast and begins to rot. The bacteria and yeast produce toxic waste in form of gasses and acids. The two also damage the cells on the intestinal wall, causing inflammation. Studies show that these substances can bring about abnormal brain behavior. When this happens, the nervous system is affected. Waste material lingers in the intestines causing different types of conditions.
It has been said time and again that death begins in the colon. Poor digestion is a major issue for most people. It is the consequence of an overworked digestive system that is inundated with genetically modified foods, fast foods, alcohol, stress, and medications. Colon hydrotherapy (colonic irrigation) cleanses your colon and decreases digestive discomfort by getting rid of the waste matter that your body may not be removing effectively.
What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy means using water to maintain health or to treat a disease. Water has multiple properties that make it a powerful tool for healing. Some of them include:
- Water can carry and store energy and heat
- Water can help blood flow
- Water can’t harm you even if you are affected by your surroundings
- Water can dissolve substances such as salts and minerals
Colon hydrotherapy means gently rinsing the colon with warm water in order to remove mucus, gas, and covered fecal matter. The process allows crucial nutrients to be absorbed easily and makes you feel healthier and rejuvenated. It can also reshape and re-tone your colon.
A healthy colon is necessary for the maintenance of good health. Sadly, this vital organ is the most neglected in the body. When your bloodstream is filled with toxic waste, your body does not function as it should.
How Does Colon Hydrotherapy Help?
The benefits of colonic irrigation run the gamut. They include enhanced energy, mental clarity, clearer skin and eyes, weight loss, improved digestion, and relief from constipation and bloating. When waste material is removed from the colon, the immune system is given a boost. Colon hydrotherapy can aid in healing different conditions like diarrhea, constipation, bloating, indigestion, irritable bowel, and excessive gas.
Colonic Hydrotherapy for Weight Loss
If you want to lose weight, cleanse your colon and remove fat from those obstinate cells. Your liver cannot offload toxins and fats unless you release the plug from the bile duct via colonic hydrotherapy. To lose significant weight, go for 3-6 sessions. Tell your therapist from the start what you wish to achieve. Most therapists say 3 treatments over a 2-3 week timeframe produce the best results.
Although colon hydrotherapy will frequently support weight loss from the excess material in the colon it is not to be considered a weight loss therapy.
Once your colon is clean it is extremely helpful to drink at least ½ ounce of pure spring or alkaline water for each pound you weigh every day. If you weight 150#, drink 75 ounces of pure water.
Also make sure your diet is primarily vegetables and fruits. Be conscious of eating fiber and fibrous vegetables. Protein is also important although large quantities of red meat is not advisable. Animal protein moves slowly through the intestinal system.
Be sure you are exercising at least 3-5 days a week. Yoga at least once a week will help strengthen the colon and your core. The twisting motions can help clear out the colon as well.
Does Colonic Hydrotherapy Detox Your Body?
The answer is a booming “Yes!” Fasting programs and cleansing herbs may seem like new fads but people have used natural cleansing techniques to detoxify their bodies since time immemorial. Many religions encourage people to fast so as to cleanse their bodies and minds.
These days, the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe are polluted. This is why cleansing the colon is so important. The crisis of over-pollution is partly responsible for the harmful effects on the immune system. This scenario puts us at risk of grave diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and much more.
The liver is the body’s major detoxifying organ, it filters out and neutralizes poisons from blood and dangerous drug residues. After doing this, it flushes them out of the body via the colon through the bile duct. But if the colon is filled with waste material, everything backs up. This results in sickness and disease. You can’t start to cleanse and repair other body systems till you remove waste matter from the colon. This way, the toxic material can have a clear pathway out of your body.
Is It Painful?
Most people who have had their colons cleansed say that the procedure is free of pain. You may experience some minor discomfort as the speculum is being inserted, but it only lasts for a few seconds. During the treatment, you may feel nauseous or experience minor cramping in the stomach. This is normal as toxic waste is being detached from your intestinal wall and leaving your body. It is also because the colon is being filled very full to expand and open up the small areas that are hiding the bacteria, yeast, parasites and other toxins.
Isn’t Good Bacteria Lost During Colon Hydrotherapy?
Good bacteria are found in both the small and large intestines. Colon hydrotherapy does not get rid of good bacteria. In fact, it improves their habitat, assisting in their reproduction and multiplication.
It is true that the cleansing can flush out most of what is in the colon and therefore I recommend that you have your practitioner insert a bolus of probiotics and trace minerals when you are complete.
It is also very important to drink plenty of pure, spring or alkaline water always including after a colon cleanse.
