Ever Considered Homeopathic Medicine?

Mary suffered from insomnia, bad constipation, and had a pinched nerve. These conditions made her snap at her loved ones for the smallest things. Her young children even began to fear her and would walk away fearfully whenever she entered a room. She saw several doctors but the medicines they prescribed didn’t help. Finally, she decided to see a homeopath. Within one week, her constipation was gone, her insomnia had improved, and the nerve pain had decreased.

Homeopathic medicine works! It is a form of alternative medicine founded on the idea that the body is able to heal itself. It was invented by Samuel Hahnemann in 1796 and is widely practiced throughout the world today. Homeopaths believe that disease symptoms are responses produced by the body in an attempt to regain health.

What Is Homeopathic Medicine?

Homeopathic medicine is a type of complementary medicine based on 3 laws developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann: the law of similars, the law of infinitesimals, and the law of succussion.

The law of similars (like cures like) states that substances that cause symptoms can also cure them. This means that the things that cause healthy people to develop symptoms can also eradicate them. For example, caffeine is believed to cure sleeping problems. Homeopaths believe that bodies produce symptoms so as to overcome diseases. By taking homeopathic remedies, patients give their bodies the information they need to restore health.

The law of infinitesimals is based on the belief that the more dilute a remedy is, the stronger it is. These dilute treatments are known as potentiated substances. Homeopaths increase the potency of homeopathic treatments by diluting them in water.  Afterwards, they shake the substances (percussion) to make sure they are potentialted. Small doses, unlike large ones, are strong and don’t have any negative side effects.

The law of succussion states that the strength of a medicine is enhanced by vigorous shaking. When homeopaths are preparing remedies, they tap or shake them at different stages to increase their potency.

How Is Medicine Administered?

Homeopathic physicians prescribe pills or liquid mixtures containing small amounts of active ingredients. Homeopathic remedies are administered in drops, globules, or grains. Patients take the medicine as per homeopaths’ recommendations. Some take the medicine once while others take it 2 or 3 times a day. This is frequently related to the potency of the remedy.

Patients are advised to follow the instructions carefully. Oftentimes, the medicine is repeated until change occurs. The specific time a dose is taken is important. A homeopath will tell a patient to take a remedy before a meal or to drink nothing beforehand. The patient may also be advised not to brush their teeth at the time.  It is best to avoid ingesting foods or substances that have a strong odor.  Examples of this would be raw garlic, camphor, eucalyptus, strong mint and others.  These will not harm you but they will most likely antidote the remedy.

It is also wise to not have any food or drink in mouth when you dissolve the pellets or drink the remedy solution for several minutes before and after the ingestion.

Toothpaste that has a strong mint flavor is not recommended throughout the time of ingesting homeopathic remedies as this may cancel the remedy working as well.

Taking Homeopathic Medicines

If you have visited a homeopathic doctor and gotten medicine, follow the instructions to the letter. Homeopathic drops can be taken orally or they can be dissolved in water and taken with a teaspoon. Globules and grains can be placed under the tongue.

Homeopathic treatments should be stored in areas where there is no sunlight, no strong odors, and the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. This way, they remain active for a long time. Homeopathic medicines are safe and no harm will occur if you take more than the recommended dosage.

After you take the medication, observe yourself. Also, keep the follow up appointment. Your next appointment could be 2-8 weeks after your first appointment. If the treatment is effective, the interval between appointments will be longer. But you may still have to see a homeopath after you are cured as healing is not simply the disappearance of symptoms but attaining a stable equilibrium physically and psychologically.

Are Homeopathic Treatments Safe?

Yes, homeopathic remedies are safe. Since they are diluted substances, they don’t have any adverse side effects. There is a small probability of negative effects arising from taking these treatments. This is usually related to the higher potencies and frequency of ingesting the,

Some remedies may contain substances that interfere with the effectiveness of conventional medicines. This is unusual so tell your Homeopath about any medications you take. Remember to talk to your doctor before taking any homeopathic medicine or stopping treatment of any prescribed medicines.

Uses of Homeopathic Medicine

Relieving Anxiety

Anxiety affects many people all over the world. Some people become afraid or get nervous when they are unsure of what lies ahead. Others panic when they are about to make presentations at work or to attend social gatherings. Homeopathic medicine for anxiety can help you to feel better any time you start panicking or getting anxious. Some homeopathic treatments given to people suffering from anxiety include Calcarea carbonica, Kali arsenicosum, Gelsemium sempervirens and Argentum nitricum.

Treating Allergies

Allergies can imprison you. They can make it difficult for you to enjoy the countryside or prevent you from going outdoors. You may stop eating your favorite food or be unable to visit your friends who have pets. Doctors treat allergies with steroids, antihistamines, or desensitization shots. But these remedies only offer temporary relief. Homeopathic medicine for allergies offers lasting relief. Allium cepa, Arsenicum album, Nux vomica , Pulsatilla  and Histaminium are powerful remedies for allergies.

For Weight Loss

Obesity is one of America’s biggest problems. It affects people of all ages and no one is immune. While there is no miracle cure for obesity, homeopathy can help reverse the condition. It has been used in Europe and South Asia for many years to treat obesity. Homeopathic remedies for weight loss help people to lose weight naturally. The five most popular medicines for weight loss are Natrum Mur, Nux Vomica, Calcarea Carbonica, Antimonium Crudum, and Lycopodium.

Other Uses

There is an almost unlimited amount of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual uses for Homeopathy.  I have used homeopathy for everything from Hormone Imbalances, Fear, Depression, Pneumonia, Constipation, Sciatica, Asthma, Bone Healing, Cancer and list goes on and on.

Children do very well with Homeopathy for Rashes, Colic etc. etc.

Why You Should Try Homeopathy

In the 1800s, many physicians practiced homeopathy. But when the AMA was established at the end of the 19th century, the alternative medicine was pushed out of the medical system. Fortunately, it is becoming popular again as people look for a natural alternative to toxic drugs. Most conventional drugs alleviate symptoms but bring about other grave ones. If you care about your health, choose the safe alternative that is homeopathic medicine. It treats the whole person and not just disease symptoms. Take control of your life and enjoy optimal health. You’ll never regret your decision.
