Having More Money Pt. 2
Here we are for How to Have More Money Part Two. If you haven’t read part one, I very much encourage you because we’re in a flow here of what’s going on. Previously, we spoke about what money means to you and what energy is, which is money. Money is energy and energy is money, so that means there’s no limitation of it. First, what we want to do is get in our head that we have scarcity. We spoke about scarcity and what it is that we do, which is to keep ourselves from thinking that there’s not enough of anything. The other thing that I suggested that you do is write down how you give your power away to money and how you give your experience of life to something that basically for most people, it owns them.
We’re going to speak about what money is internally and what kind of relationship you have with money. One of the things that I encourage you to do is I want you to take a moment and think about the things that I’m suggesting. Part of the work that I do is about helping people become aware. Awareness is my thing. When you recognize what you’re aware of, then you’re very clear about what it is that’s going on inside of you. Once you know what’s going on inside of you, then what occurs? You can change it. When we are unconscious about things, we run on an unconscious level through our old programs, our old beliefs and stuff that’s in our life that is not necessarily effectual. It doesn’t necessarily work well for us.Money is energy, and energy is money. Click To Tweet
What meaning have you assigned to money? Does it mean freedom? Does it mean a real heavy feeling like, “I got to get some?” How you frame money and how you feel about money has everything to do with how much you have, how hard you have to hold onto it, and how it is that you be with it in regard to receiving more of it. If you know that money is a friend, if it’s an enemy or if it’s a battleground like, “I have to have it. I don’t know how to get it. I don’t know how to keep it.” I know many people, millionaires, that are so afraid of losing their money that they are in a constant state of stress about it. Then there’s the other truth where people don’t have any of it or seemingly barely living paycheck to paycheck or don’t have money to pay their bills. They’re also having the stress factor that comes with money. How do you spend money? Are you a person that goes out and buys things just because, “I want that,” and you go through your life feeling like you’ve got to have everything or are you the kind of person who won’t buy themselves anything? “I have $50,000 cash in the bank, but I can’t afford that.” Why does that occur? Because we’re living in the future. We’re not living in the now.
At this moment, the more you live at this moment, the more powerful you will be able to experience your life. That means that you’re not worried about what happened in the past. You’re not worried about what’ll happen in the future. Right here, right now, you can be at peace. Does that mean that you don’t think about what you’re doing? It doesn’t mean that you do that. I’m not suggesting you go spend all your money. What I’m suggesting is that you have an awareness of how you be with your money and you feel like there’s barely enough and you might never get any more. That is an important thing to recognize because if you’re afraid of not getting any more or not having enough, then that energy is going out into the world. That energy is keeping you from being able to receive what it is that you’re desiring. The money that is in your life is a fabulous energy. It can and it will multiply.
It’s important to know how you spend your money and how you feel about your money. Ask yourself, “Are you a spender or are you a hoarder?” This is a fun thing to do. Some of us like to get stuff and pile it on. Why do we do that? Because it makes us feel secure. We want safety. We, as human beings, feel very strongly about being safe. It’s a core survival mechanism that’s on inside of each and every one of us and because of that, we frequently tend to gather a bunch of things and hold onto it. We do this with lots of different things but we can especially do it when we are thinking about money. We are no longer able to think clearly because we are now worried that we’re not going to have enough, that it’s going to run out.
How many times have you thought, “I can’t do that because I’m going to probably not have enough money for this or for that.” What do you do? Perhaps you hoard your money. Where else do you hoard things? Where else do you hold on to things? Is it with your love? Is it with your feelings? Is it with hugs? Where do you hold back? Where do you hold onto and not necessarily allow yourself to experience a freedom that is there and the generosity of everything? Recognize that because everything is energy, there is never an outage of that or a shortage of that. Therefore, we can be more open. I’m not saying go spend all your money. What I’m suggesting is you look internally and see where you’re at.
Determine how much of the flow you are in every area of your life. If you recognize that you’re holding back here, then what if you changed that? What if you said yourself, “What’s the value of me holding on to my love and not letting anybody else experience? What’s the value of me holding onto my money and not allowing myself to enjoy it and be with it?” Not very many people enjoy their money. They’re holding onto it at such a high level that they are not able to appreciate it. They have delayed gratification, “I’m going to give this to myself and I’m going to feel good about this when I have $1 million, $2 million.” Maybe for some it’s $50,000 and for some it might be $5 million. It might be $10 billion. It can be whatever it is. Where are you? Where is your belief system about how much money you can have and how much money you would like to have? How much money can you allow to flow through you rather than the money that you get and you’re holding on ever so tight?
This is about becoming clear about you and your relationship with money. The more you know about the relationship you have with your money and whether it’s an enemy, it’s a friend, or it’s something that you feel like you have to cow down to because it owns you and it keeps you in a place of not being able to enjoy your moment, then your relationship with money is not going to be something that will allow you to have more. This series is about how to have more. We’re looking at these foundational issues in part one and part two about how it is that you are framing your experience with money, so you better know how it is that you could shift those. You’re clear now about asking yourself whether you’re a spender or whether you’re a hoarder. You’re going to review what it is that your relationship with money is about and how you frame it. You also can ask yourself, what is it that you truly want with money? What is money for you? What’s it going to give you?
I invite you to write down, “Am I a spender or am I a hoarder? Do I hold back? Am I resistive about allowing things to come through me rather than experience it as a line in the sand? I won’t have that or I won’t give that, I won’t be more open with myself and my caring.” Where is it that you are, not good, not bad, not right, not wrong? This is not about judgment. This is about you being clear about how your life got into the place it’s in and why it’s staying in the place that it’s in. As your money situation is desired to be changed, then that means that you are in a place where you get to make different decisions.Once you know what’s going on inside you, then you can change it.
