Many of us do lots of things at once. What we find is that a lot of the time, you’re feeling a lot of pressure. You’re feeling overwhelmed and feeling you can’t get everything done. Because you love so many things, you’re feeling like that you’re leaving something out by not doing other things. One of the things that have been strongly suggested that you do is simplify things. Slow down and do just this one thing. Do one thing at a time and do only one thing per category. When you do this, you’ll be much calmer, you’ll feel like you accomplished more, and things are much better.

This One Thing Part 1
I’m going to speak about this one thing. I’m sharing with you something that I am working on myself right now and I want to give it to you because you may find it to be as effective for you as it is for me. I want you to know that this is not the easiest thing I’ve ever done because anybody who knows me knows that I am a trillion time multitasker. I do lots of things at once and what I find is that a lot of the time, I’m feeling a lot of pressure. I’m feeling overwhelmed and I’m feeling I can’t get everything done. I’m feeling like because I love so many things, I’m leaving something out by not doing other things. Here’s what I learned by the suggestion of several of my coaches.
When it comes to business, I know that I need support. One of the things that I have been strongly suggested that I do is simplify things. Slow down and do just one thing. That sent me over the edge for a few minutes. What I learned was that if I do just one thing in each category, I could pull that off because for me, I’m usually doing five or ten things, or sometimes more in every category. I have a lot of categories. I’ve narrowed my categories down and I am doing this one thing in each category. I want to suggest to you that you are doing one thing at a time and you’re doing only one thing in your category.Simplify things. Slow down and do just one thing. Click To Tweet
Your mind may be saying, “That’s easy for you to say,” because like parenting, I do just feed them, but I don’t do the dishes or I don’t do all these things. If they’re old enough, I would suggest that you employ them into those jobs, but that’s a whole other story. In particular when it comes to business, I suggest that you do is look at one thing that you’re focusing on. For example, I have a program going on now, that is a yearlong program called Abundance Mastery. I’m loving this program. I’m loving enrolling people and having ten of the most awesome, dedicated people into that program come forth to me. I’m focusing on that, but I also have C-Suite advisory things that I’m doing. I’m doing things for LinkedIn, I’m doing Facebook, I’m doing podcasts, and I’m doing blogs, and I have a whole another site called Self Healing Institute, all these things.
I’ve taken each one of these categories and I’m only doing one thing in each of them. It’s still a lot I might add, but it’s less than doing ten things under Abundance Mastery for example. In that course I have things to write and of all these things to do, but right now my only focus is finding the ten people that know that they’re committed to having a change in some area or all areas of their life. That’s my focus. I’m not dealing with the rest of that right now. What I’m doing here is I’m suggesting to you that in regard back to the parenting thing that you really look at where it is that you multitask unnecessarily. You do the things you must do, but have your main focus be your main focus. For this next period of time, whatever that might be for you, a week, a month, try it and see what happens.
For me, I’m doing this and I’m much calmer. I feel like I accomplished more and things are much better. I invite you to give it a shot.
